Hybrid Skipper Restricted Limits course

Learn the theory at home, then spend a week* with us to complete your Training Record Book (TRB)
Eligible for FEES FREE and/or interest free Student Loan

Less time away from work and whanau

Our HYBRID Skipper’s Restricted Limits course reduces your time off work and away from home as you complete an in-depth workbook and assessments with remote guidance from a tutor. Once all complete, you’ll join our training vessel where our tutor will sign off your Training Record Book – this will be your practical assessment. Then you’re ready to sit your MNZ exam!

With only a week* off work and away from whānau, it’s a whole lot less stress and cost.

The Hybrid course has a lot more work to complete at home. If you have learning challenges or prefer face to face training, we encourage you to consider our program with the full 5 week block course.

On both courses, we use the Training Record Book as your practical assessment. We understand getting the TRB signed off can be a big hurdle, that’s why our tutors will sign it off as you demonstrate you can do the tasks.

What makes this course unique?

Flexible Learning

Work through our user-friendly assignment book at your convenience with remote guidance from your tutor. Once finished, you will complete a test to ensure you’re ready for the practical week on our training vessel.

Training and Record Book (TRB) Practical week*

We use the Training Record Book as your final assessment, and our tutors will sign you off as you complete the tasks. They are there to help you really understand and build confidence in your skills. There are practical weeks scheduled throughout the year.

Dedicated Tutor Support

You will have a dedicated tutor from start to finish. They will be available to you in the ways that best suit you – like video chats, phone calls, emails, messages, etc. Our tutors are all maritime professionals committed to helping you take your maritime career to the next level.
