Gain your SCO Certificate...
Our Skipper Coastal Offshore Course (SCO) course is designed to fit around your work and life, with only two weeks of classroom attendance. The rest of your study can be completed at home, at work, or even while you’re away at sea, giving you the flexibility to keep working while progressing towards your qualification. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can reduce the length of course to less than 6 months.
The Skipper Coastal / Offshore (SCO) certificate allows you to take charge of many commercial vessels up to 24 metres, operating within restricted, coastal, and offshore limits. The course prepares you to sit the MNZ Skipper Coastal / Offshore certificate of competency exam, which leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Domestic Maritime Operations (Coastal and Offshore) Level 5.
To enrol, you’ll need a Skipper Restricted Limits (SRL) certificate endorsed to 24 metres (or equivalent), proof of minimum sea service requirements, current ancillary certificates, and compliance with MNZ’s fit and proper person and medical fitness standards.
Take your maritime career to the next level with our Skipper Coastal / Offshore program.
