SRL is an entry level command certificate with engineering components. This allows you to operate commercial vessels up to 12 metres, or up to 24 metres with endorsement in restricted limits.
In most other SRL courses, students need to complete their Training Record Book independently before the block course.
But our course is different.
In our SRL course, you complete your Training Record Book in class with the guidance of a tutor who will also sign off your tasks. Our block course includes practical sessions where your tutor will sign off your Training Record Book.

In-Class TRB Completion
In most other SRL courses, students are required to complete their Training Record Book and have tasks signed off by a skipper prior to attending the block course.
This can be a struggle, since the skipper is usually pretty busy and students need to complete tasks before being equipped with the necessary skills to do so.
Our course is designed that you complete your Training Record Book in class with the guidance of a tutor.
Our tutors will then sign off the completed tasks in your TRB, so you have one less thing to worry about.
Guided Learning
Some other SRL courses include 5 months of self-directed online learning before the block course.
Lack of personal guidance can be frustrating, especially because students are required to also complete their Training Record Book during this time.
But our course is different. Here, you will be paired with a tutor from the time you enrol to help you from start to finish.
We’ve designed a student activity book that will help you learn more about your operation while collecting diagrams and procedures that you’ll need for your Training Record Book during our block course.
You will be able to use a combination of your work and personal time prior to the block course to complete this student activity book.
Practical Application
Most other training providers are classroom-based after completing months of self-directed distance learning.
But what better place to hone your skipper skills than on the water?
To ensure you get both the theoretical and practical skills to be successful in your new career, we have designed this course for people who would rather be learning on the water.
Topics will be introduced in a classroom, which you will then put into practice on a working commercial vessel. Practical sessions are strategically scheduled to consolidate and assess learning.
