Qualification: Prepares you for 500 GT SRL Endorsement oral exam.
Aim: To help skippers who hold SRL in the completion of their 500 GT Training Record Book and prepare for the MNZ oral exam, which can be completed immediately after.
Timeframe: 1 day workshop to complete the TRB.
Recognition: The completed TRB along with 12 months of sea time on vessels >12m meet the Maritime NZ requirements to sit the oral examination for the 500 GT SRL endorsement. See the MNZ website for full details.

Requirements:
You must have completed at least 12 months of sea time on commercial vessels over 12m and completed the following practical components of the TRB:
        4.4 (in section 4, but misprinted as 3.4) – Must be completed and signed off by the skipper
        5.5 – Must be completed and signed off by the skipper

*Online students will need to send us completed TRB’s to be signed after the workshop is complete, prior to sitting your oral exam. This may take longer but you will not have to travel

Maritime NZ oral exam: We can organise the Maritime NZ oral examiner to sit the MNZ exam with you after the workshop (as long as your TRB is fully complete). Select the ‘Maritime NZ 500GT Oral Exam’ ticket below to sign up for this. Cost is $225+GST for the exam fee.
